Willys Wagon

i have a carter YF carburetor and i spits gas through a part in side the first part of the carb and it sprays it on my exhaust im not sure y but if anyone can tell me if this is somewhat normal or not this is on a 1962 willys jeep pickup and i need to know if its because the float is set to low or if its just something to that has to do with the way it was rebuilt any information is much appreciated and will benefit to the continuation of my restoration of this truck i am only 16 and i have fixed most of the major problems with the truck but this problem has stumped me so once again thank you for taking the time to try and help me
p.s. i know that i have added a lot of unneeded information
