T84J – Cleaning Parts
Cleaning. Wash all parts thoroughly in dry-cleaning solvent until all trace of old lubricant has been removed. Oil the bearings immediately after cleaning to prevent corrosion of the highly polished surfaces. (Editors’ note: I used commonly available brake cleaner. Simply sprayed it on and generally quickly cleaned the parts.
You should strive for a grease and oil free case so that you can get a good seal when you assemble the parts.
