Willys sold 4066 four cylinder versions and 1778 six cylinder versions of this vehicle in the 1950 model year. Very utilitarian, yet a fun vehicle too! Willys took advantage of the durability reputation of Jeep, and the desire of many returning servicemen to continue to have a Jeep in their lives. Think of how many cars have ceased to be in the last 60 years…but the Jeep lives on!

Jeepster First Run

This is a parts jeepster that I picked up in non running condition… After an hour or so, cutting out all the old wiring, and running just the minimum wiring, pouring some gas in the carb, and running an electric fuel pump it fired right up…

of course there were a few trial starts first, but couldnt keep it running because the mechanical fuel pump wasnt working…

These came with the Buick Dauntless 225 Oddfire V6, but I believe this has been swapped for the 231 Even Fire. I have to check the case numbers…
